III. Information Technologies Conference (http://btkon.neu.edu.tr) organized by the Near East University Engineering Club sponsored by Kuzey Kıbrıs Turkcell took place on 28th October 2011 with contributions from İş Bankası and Akçaba Communications.
Business representatives along with students attended the conference, in which field experts from various companies presented the new technologies in their specialty areas.

10 out of 32 projects selected to recieve a grant are from Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector. Akçaba Communications with its foppex - fiber optic pigtails and patchcords manufacturing and export - project was among those 10 projects that got awarded by the EU to recieve a grant.
